S3 Triple Crown Photos

Well, I finally got around to putting my Triple Crown photos online. They are here (http://photos.yahoo.com/courtenaysblog@sbcglobal.net) in my Yahoo! Photos. Lots of cool looking, cool sounding and very fast Tiburons. Go ahead and check them out.

Olympics, the '05 Corvette and Politics

I'm watching some of the Olympics, not much though because I just have basic cable so can only watch what comes on NBC. But, even then I'm only watching certain events that I like, like diving tonight in which I was strongly pulling for the Chinese women and was very glad to see JingJing Guo get the individual gold (because she's incredible and incredibly attractive) and MingXia Wu come in second with the silver. And, even better was learning that Taiwan got their first and second gold medals in the country's olympic history! No doubt the celebrations in Taiwan are going on. Too bad they still can't compete under their country name of Taiwan instead of Chinese Taipei. Maybe by the '08 games in Beijing (which I am definitely going to and will be fluent in my Chinese by then, dammit). That would really steam mainland China.
GM pulling their Corvette ad because of safety group concerns is so frickin' ridiculous (http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/nm/20040825/tv_nm/autos_gm_ad_dc_8). I very much hate when groups complain about something like this when there are so many other products offered by competing companies and other companies whose commercials are far worse than this. Yeah, it's bad to see a little kid in a sports car speeding and jumping and looking like he's having fun but I guess all of those beer ads with overt sexual messages and even clothing commercials geared towards teens that seem to do the same are ok for the kids, right? As long as they're made to look safe. But, I like ultraviolent videogames so I suppose I can't say much. Whatever. I would love to be in advertising and see how many of my ideas got used. Lord knows I would have canned a lot of the crap that's on tv right now. The '05 Corvette kicks ass, by the way and if I should happen to have a spare $50K next year, I could se myself driving one. But, it is still the only good car in the Chevrolet line. Everything else sucks, except the SSR. :)
Lastly, it would be cool to see Kerry and Bush have weekly debates up through the election and it's good that Kerry suggested it but, of course, the Bush camp would never do it.
Oh well, I'm tired and have been sitting at my computer too long so I'm done. Look for pictures from the S3 Triple Crown tomorrow.
Bye!

S3 at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course

This past weekend I was in Lexington, OH during Saturday and Sunday participating in the first annual Speed, Style & Sound Magazine Triple Crown Tuner Challenge and had a pretty good time. It is essentially a car show and competition in which people compete in those 3 categories: Speed, Style and Sound. It was co sponsored by Hyundai and Hyundai USA paid admission to the event and entry into the style competitions for owners of '03 and '04 Tiburons, which is why I went. We had about 30-33 Tiburons there which was really cool because it's such a cool looking car anyway but when you have people with bodykits, paintjobs, expensive a/v systems and more, it is very impressive to see all those Tiburons. We performed really well in the competitions too, taking about 1/3 of all the available trophies, etc. I took a bunch of pictures and I will eventually post them on the NewTiburon.com site, probably tonight, so I'll post a link back here too.
Hopefully they will have it at Mid-Ohio next year too and I had better have some of the modifications that I want done by then so I can compete in all events. Anyway, pictures to come soon.

Nothing new really...

I don't have anything to write about really, just bored and have nothing else to do except go back to watching more of the Simpsons Season 2 dvds...I have such an exciting life, you know.
I did get a new cell phone, which is cool because it's so much better than my old one. Smaller, lighter, loads more features, plus it has Tetris so I can play when I'm out and bored. I love the voice commands though. It's like I'm using a Star Trek communicator...say the person's name and it calls them for you...ok, so I can be a geek...who are you to judge me!?!?
Anywho...I think I am kind of becoming addicted to Star Wars Galaxies (Lucasart's MMORPG...if you don't know what that means, ask a "geek", they'll know). It sucks, because I wanted to play since it came out last year but didn't have a Windows PC and now they have the 14 day demo, which is what I'm on now, and I think I will be tempted to pay the monthly fee to keep playing. It's just so cool walking around on Tatooine, passing Wookiees and Twi'leks in the streets of Mos Eisley, watching laser duels in the desert...did I mention that I could be a geek?
Y'know, now I think I'll log on and play for a bit...later.
