Ohio Tib Meet III

Well, the little Ohio Tib meet was this past Sunday. It was pretty fun meeting other people from the NewTiburon.com forums that are from Ohio and the surrounding area. Not too many people, but a nice group. And, of course, as long as the cars were there it was good. Now I really can't wait until the S3 Triple Crown in August also here in Ohio. That will be too sweet with 50+ new Tibs ranging from stock to turbo and supercharged and with different bodykits and paintjobs. That is going to be some kind of awesome. Hopefully I will have something else done to my car by then...like a CAI and a MUSSA exhaust! Probably not, but we'll see.

Yeah, this pretty of old now but if you haven't seen this news clip and related images, etc. before, you need to watch it now. Pure hilarity.

Ohio Tib Meet

Tomorrow (or today, actually) I'm going to a mini car meet in town to meet up with some other Tiburon owners. Should be pretty cool to see their cars and what they've done to them and so forth. And since this is my first meet it's kind of exciting too. I need to wash my car though to make it presentable. Damned OSU construction keeps it dirty all the time.

A Snow Capped Romance

I love all kinds of music and recently bought a new head unit and Sirius tuner for my new car (which I love - both the car and Sirius). One of the stations is called Hard Attack (Channel 27) and is their metal station. One of the bands they play is a band originally out of Alaska called 36 Crazyfists and they had a giveaway contest about a month ago and I won an autographed copy of their latest cd, A Snow Capped Romance. If you like metal or hard rock and don't know who they are, you should definitely check out their music.

Child stars Grow Up

It's always interesting when child stars grow up and turn in to young adults. I don't have kids of my own yet (but certainly hope to before I'm too old) but I imagine there could be similarities in with regard to the "where did my little boy/girl go?" feeling when you see them growing up. One of my favorite movies of all time is My Girl starring Anna Chlumsky, Macaulay Culkin, Dan Akroyd and Jamie Lee Curtis. That is one of the very few movies that I have videotaped off of TV (years ago), purchased on VHS and purchased on DVD. I just love the Vada Sultenfuss character because Anna was such an incredible actress, even at 11 years old. The wide range of emotions she showed in the film were wonderful. I liked Macaulay too, but Anna absolutely stole that movie. But, anyway...television, and film in particular, by design have a way of freezing ideas and images of people, and the characters they portray, in our minds so for the longest time Anna Chlumsky was Vada Sultenfuss in my mind. Not in the crazy, can't tell make-believe from reality way, but just in the normal like-to-remember-you-like-that way. Since Anna has stayed away from Hollywood, graduated from college and has a normal life, she's one of the lucky ones that don't have to keep their lives secretly guarded from every photographer and news hound on the corner. But, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are a whole different story. I'm sure I'm not the only person who watched Full House when I was younger and thought they were not the most attractive little kids (well, they weren't). However, flash forward a couple hatefully of years and they started to get very cute. Now, that they are 18 (and millions of teens probably have wet dreams starring the twins) they are very beautiful young women. Honestly, there are probably more 30-somethings+ lusting after them than the teenagers. And, I really don't envy them when they do go off to college, especially with the anorexia thing getting so much play in the media.
...but anyway, where was I going with this in the first place...?
I have no idea anymore and I'm getting hungry so I'll just say if you have never seen My Girl I highly recommend doing so. My Girl 2 is good as well, but definitely not as good as the first. Another highly recommended movie is Harriet The Spy starring Michelle Trachtenberg (Dawn, from Buffy the Vampire Slayer if you don't know). She was also 11 when that movie was made and she was excellent as well. It also has Rosie O'Donnell (not a big fan), Vanessa Lee Chester (of Jurassic Park 2) and Gregory Smith (on Everwood, which I've never seen but got to like the name...everwood...:D).
So yeah, two good movies to go and watch by yourself or definitely good to watch with kids, although the death themes in My Girl may need some parental explanation. I'm going to eat now. By the way, I ended up watching Rugrats In Paris last night, if you were curious.

Way too many choices in life...

Ok, so it's 8:30pm and I still haven't decided what I want to eat tonight. I know this is really unhealthy, eating late in the evening and night but I just can't make up my mind and therefore I postpone eating until I figure it out or just cave in and eat anything. Ah, it sucks being single. What's worse, I want to watch a movie tonight but I've got to choose a DVD! I've narrowed it down to (and don't laugh) Pokemon 4Ever, Rugrats In Paris, Kiki's Delivery Service, Kikujiro, Rush Hour 2 or Mortal Kombat. Like I said, too many frickin' choices...
Ok, I need to eat something.....

The Beginning

What is the "meaning of life"?
Why are we even here?
Is there one "perfect" love for waiting for everyone?
Will I marry that perfect companion or will I just "settle"?
Does every person have an ulterior motive and a hidden agenda?
What the hell am I going to eat for dinner tonight??

So many questions and not one answer (even to the dinner thing). I'll probably never know the answer to any of those questions (except the dinner thing) but that's what life is all about; exploration and discovery.

Hi, I'm Courtenay. You may remember me from such websites as Courtenay's Desktop Creations and Holy Hannah, There's A Cockroach In My Pants! (ok, not really). Anyway, I'm just a regular, average guy trying to figure out what I want for my life and why I'm even here and trying to stay afloat during the process. It's been a while since I've created anything for the web and even longer since I've kept any kind of journal or diary but since everyone else in the world is into the blogging thing, then why not me too. So, I'm just going to use this as a chronicle of my life (or lack thereof) and if anyone out there finds it interesting or worthwhile, feel free to send your comments and questions. I'll probably put all kinds of stuff out here, including random thoughts, commentary and photos. I'll try to introduce myself more over the next several posts so, over time, you will come to know me better.

So, thanks for reading and I'll type at you soon.
