Sweetie's Secret Sweeps Website

I love entering sweepstakes and contests and have won a little bit over the past 7 months too. No grand vacations, cars or TVs yet but I have won grocery gift cards, Visa and Mastercard gift cards and various other things and I'm looking forward to winning more. My favorite website for finding out about sweepstakes and giveaways has been Sweetie's Sweeps, which is run by a long time sweeper, Wendy Limauge, who has won so many awesome prizes including TVs, computers, many gift cards (including a $5000 Visa card in a Burger King promotion this year!) a new truck and even a trip to France. She has a wealth of information to share and now she has started a brand new website devoted to giving its members the best information on restricted and local sweepstakes/giveaways with the best chances of winning, Sweetie's Secret Sweeps.

Because it is a members only site and the sweepstakes information is so valuable there is a low cost to join of $25 for the first 500 charter members and $35 for members 501+. However, if you feel lucky (as I do) you can enter her membership giveaway to win your own free membership! All you have to do is go to this page on her free site: http://sweetiessweeps.com/2009/07/sweeties-secret-sweeps-giveaway-ends.html and enter your name and e-mail address into the Google Docs form. If you aren't lucky enough to win or you want to join before the giveaway ends you can certainly just go to http://sweetiessecretsweeps.com/and sign up there. If you do, be sure to give my e-mail address as the person who referred you, if you don't mind.

So, please accept some of my luck and head on over to enter the membership giveaway and, who knows, you may be on your way to winning some of your heart's desires.

I do so love Maine.

We returned from our week long trip to Acadia National Park in Bar Harbor, Maine on Sunday and I am reminded again why I love Maine and the northeastern coast so much. Even though it was rainy/hazy for just about every day we were there, it was still beautiful and very relaxing. I loved the cabin that we stayed at, Alcyon Rentals. It is a privately owned, 3 bedroom cabin with a full bathroom, kitchen, dining room and living room and the property sits on 6 acres of land right on Seal Cove. There is a gazebo overlooking the cove along with kayaks and canoes. We had a great time kayaking and just enjoying our time there. Enough words, though. Here's a few photos of what we did and what we saw.

We stopped at Hampton Beach on the way up from Boston to check out the annual sandcastle building contest. A guy from Cleveland won. Go Ohio!

We saw a lot of this with all of the haze, rain and clods but it's still very cool.

The famous Jordan Pond House popovers and a cup of soup. Very good.

More scenic views and more fog.

What's new?

It's been a little while since I've posted anything here so here's the 60 second update:

I got offered a new position at OSU which was subsequently rescinded after I had turned in my letter of resignation. My then current office got my soon to be vacant position re-posted to hire someone new (in amazing record time, mind you) so when I asked about withdrawing my resignation because the job was no longer there they said the refused my withdrawal because they've already "...taken affirmative steps to fill the vacancy...". So, now I no longer have a job since I "willingly" resigned. As if that's not bad enough, one of our cats fell off the balcony last week and tore a muscle in her hind leg which should be surgically repaired. A surgery that will cost $500 at our vet's office. That's better than the $1400+ at the emergency clinic but without a job, it's understandably difficult to quickly come up with the cash. Of course, this is in addition to the $200 visit to get Lily looked at and x-rays taken...

I'm ready for some good news to come my way. Please?

It's April, fools!!

Happy April Fools Day! I know it's not an official holiday but it is a fun day nonetheless.

In addition to really welcoming spring, this April is also significant for me because there will be some new and exciting things happening with my Divisible by 1 Tees site (and with other things). The fun is going to start on the the first Tuesday of April (April 7th) which is less than a week away!

Of course, if you want to be kept fully up to date with what's going on, the best way is to sign up for the Divisible by 1 Tees e-mail updates. Just head over to the Db1 Blog, click on the button at the top of the page and you're all set.

'Till then, stay tuned!

Megan Joy Corkrey had better go home!

I've only been watching American Idol for 3 seasons (or is it 4 now?) but I have really grown to dislike the Vote for the Worst website. In the past, I'm sure they've helped less talented contestants stick around longer than they should have and this season is no exception.

Megan.

Joy.

Corkrey.

Sucks.
Period.

It is, literally, painful to listen to her wail through songs every week. And that arm/waist "shimmy" thing that she apparently has no control over doing? Holy crap! It's painful to watch her too!

Please, please, please let her get voted off tonight!!!

Divisible by 1 Tees is live!

I may have missed my target by one week but I'm glad to say I have finally made Divisible by 1 Tees live. Of course, being live just means that the work is only beginning since I have to keep putting out new t-shirt designs. Luckily, I still have some old CEGPhoto designs to update and migrate into the Db1 shop as well as a truckload of new designs in progress and on paper.
You may be asking yourself "How will I, as a reader, be able to keep up with all of the updates and new designs?". Well, you can visit and subscribe to the new Divisible by 1 Tees Blog! How convenient is that? The blog will be updated to let the world know about new designs in the shop, designs I'm working on, sales and promotions and I will finally get to host some giveaways so you'll want to keep an eye out for those.
These first few weeks will probably see a large number of new designs added so, if you are so inclined, you could subscribe to either the Divisible by 1 Tees RSS feed or e-mail from the blog and ensure that you don't miss a thing. I hope you enjoy the shop and the blog and stick around for lots more good stuff and fun in the future.
Thanks!
